Abstract

104,808. Johnson, F. A. L. June 29, 1916. Sparking - plugs. -The central electrode and its insulation are secured in the body by means of a series of copper and mica laminµ supported on a shoulder a<2> and retained by a gland nut or by spinning over the outer end of the body. Above and below the supporting-ring are threaded mica washers, those adjacent to the ring being reinforced by interspaced metal rings if desired. Porcelain, steatite, &c. may be used instead of mica. In this case, a reduced part of the inner portion of the insulator penetrates the copper-mica ring f and fits within the outer portion of the insulator. The body mav be provided with radiating disks &c. as described in Specification 103,420.
