Abstract

Cutters 16, 17 and 64 located immediately after the templer 12, 13 cut off the selvedges and divide the cloth into two portions. The cutters may be knives, shears, saws, hot wires, gas or water jets. In Figs. 2 and 4 (not shown) a knife 51 is attached to the weft clamps of a gripper shuttle loom so that it is given a warp-wise and vertical motion but is constrained weft-wise.
