Abstract
1,047,752. Cathode-ray tube mountings. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 3, 1963 [July 6, 1962], No. 26370/63. Heading H4T. A television picture tube 7 (Figs. 1 and 2) is secured in a cabinet 1 by means of an L-shaped lug or bracket 23, 25 (also Fig. 3) fastened to the tube near a, corner thereof by means of a strap 21 and provided with an oversize aperture 31 (with respect to a bolt 13) to allow lateral adjustment of the tube which is secured by clamping the bracket portion 25 between a " composite " nut 15, 19 and a locating member 27 by means of a nut and washer 35, 33. The bolt 13 is supported in an aperture in a subpanel 5 behind the mark 3 by means of an internally threaded flange 9 provided with spikes 11 which are pushed into the (preferably wooden) panel 5 and the " composite " nut comprises a similar threaded flange 15 the spikes 17 of which are pushed into a wooden ring 19. The locating member 27 is also provided with sharp projections 29 which, when the correct lateral position of the tube has been determined, are pushed into ring 19, the axial position of the tube having been previously determined by adjustment of the position of the composite nut 15, 19 on the bolt 13. A similar arrangement may be provided at each of the other corners of the tube or at only the upper or the lower corners and other fastening means employed at the remaining corners.
