Abstract
1,047,643. Electro-erosion. EXPERIMENTALNY NAUCHNO-ISSLED-OVATELSKY INSTITUTE METALLOREZHUSHCHIKH STANKOV. Jan. 17,1964, No.2130/64. Heading B3V. [Also in Division H1] An electro-erosion machine has a liquid-filled electromagnet for adjusting the erosion gap, comprising a cylindrical housing 1 containing an energizing winding 4 and a movable core 5, bellows 2, 3 are secured to the respective ends of the housing which also contains a vibration damper. In the embodiment shown, the core 5 moves on balls 6 and the damper comprises a plurality of varied diameter discs 8 mounted on a rod 9 rigidly connected to the core, whilst in a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown) the damper comprises a single diaphragm brake located at one end of a magnetic sleeve within the winding. Regulation of the core movement is effected by selection of the quantity of liquid, e.g. oil, which is accessible through a port 11 closed by a plug 12. Gaskets 13 seal the magnet interior. The energizing winding 4, Fig. 3 (not shown), is supplied through a resistor 18 and a magnetic amplifier having a central winding 19 and hum filter 20.
