Abstract

1,047,402. Knitting-machines. EDOUARD DUBIED ET CIE. Feb. 11, 1964 [Feb. 14,1963], No. 5702/64. Heading D1C. Jacks in a circular knitting machine pass between the poles of a permanent magnet and are selected by the disturbance of the magnetic field by a pulsed electromagnet. In Fig. 7 the jacks are cammed against a pole face 2 of the permanent magnet which they follow unless selected by attraction of the controlled electromagnet 6. In other embodiments (not shown) the magnetic field is disturbed by an electromagnet the axis of which lies perpendicular to the direction of needle travel and permanent magnetic field in the position where selection takes place. In all cases the jacks are fitted during selection.
