An hydraulic or pneumatic servomotor 15 is actuated in response to lateral deflection of a main fluid jet issuing from a fixed nozzle 4, such deflection being caused by interaction with the jet of control jets from nozzles 9, 10. Fluid passes to the control nozzles through periodic interruption means or transducers 18, 19 and tuned cavities 16, 17 having resonant frequencies above and below a desired frequency so that any deviation from this frequency will approach the frequency of one of the tuned cavities resulting in an increased output from that cavity and a consequent deflection of the main jet in a direction such as to cause a corrective movement of the servomotor. As shown, the transducers comprise rotary valves driven by a turbine, engine, or hydraulic or pneumatic motor the speed of which is controlled by the servomotor operating on valves, a throttle or stroke mechanism. The tuned cavities may be compensated for temperature variations of the working fluid. A single transducer with branches to the two tuned cavities may be employed. Also, the transducers may be responsive to linear velocity, pressure, temperature &c., instead of speed, or non-identical transducers may be employed for regulating the ratio between two different speeds.
