Abstract
1, 046, 714. Automatic control systems for electrolytic grinders. VUMA VYSKUMNY USTAV MECHANIZACIE A AUTOMATIZACIE. Feb. 17, 1965, No. 6805/65. Heading G3R. In an electrolytic grinder, short circuits between the tool electrode 21 and the workpiece electrode 22 result in induced currents in a detecting coil 3; these currents are applied by way of a rectifier 4, an integrator 5, 6 and a limiting resistor 7 to the control winding 8 of a magnetic amplifier 9 which has a biasing winding 19 supplied from a D.C. source 20 and which is connected to control a two-phase induction motor 16 mechanically geared to regulate the distance between the electrodes 21, 22. The arrangement is such that the motor 16 operates in response to signals from the detector 3 to vary the working gap in such a manner as to limit the formation of short circuits which would otherwise interrupt the machining process and damage the electrodes.
