Abstract

1,046,441. Endless conveyers; roller conveyers; chains. WHITWORTH GLOSTER AIRCRAFT Ltd. April 9, 1963 [April 9, 1962], No. 13596/62. Heading B8A. For use with a non-travelling conveyer track system wherein a load 16 is supported on idler rollers (not shown) or other load-bearing conveyer track members, a first form of pusher device 11 (Figs. 3, 4), with rollers 14, attached to an endless chain 17 moves the load 16 until it engages an obstruction, whereupon the device 11 can rotate about an axle 20, lifting the load 16 slightly, and run freely underneath (Fig. 4). A second form of pusher device (Figs. 5, 6) comprises two pairs of links 21, 22 pivotally connected by a pin 23 carrying a roller 24. Rollers 25 on pivot-pins 26 are connected by tension springs 27 which allow the device to pass under an obstructed load 16 (Fig. 6). The pusher device 11 may be employed with pallets or loads which have their own rollers attached at their undersides (not shown), instead of running on a roller conveyer.
