Receivers.-A sound reproducing instrument f o r communicating speech or music to an audience in a room or hall has a diaphragm comparable in size with the cross-section of the hall; and the diaphragm may be utilized as a screen on which kinematograph or other pictures, related to the communicated sounds, may be displayed. As shown a telephone transmitter 14 is connected through a battery 38 and switch 13 to a receiver 12, preferably of the kind described in Specification 18765/13. The picture screen 11 acts as the diaphragm of the receiver 12. A phonograph or other sound-producing instrument, driven synchronously with the kinematograph machine, may have its stylus connected to a microphone in circuit with a receiver such as 12.
