Abstract

104,609. Monneron & Guye. June 5, 1916, [Convention date], Medecines for internal use.-A preparation for use as an intestinal astringent in cases of diarrhaea &c. is obtained by adding to an aluminium salt, for example the sulphate, a colloid such as gelatine, albumen, cr mucilage, and precipitating the mixture with soda-lye. Tannic acid is then added until the precipate is converted into a thick flaky pulp. The alkaline sulphate is then removed by washing with water, and the precipitate dried and powdered.
