Abstract
1,045,529. Piling and revetments. T. I. (GROUP SERVICES) Ltd. Sept. 23, 1965 [Sept. 23, 1964], No. 38739/64. Heading E1H. In a revetment, metal plates 10, Fig. 1 (not shown), which are about four feet square, have a longitudinally uniform semi-circular groove 11 pressed at each vertical edge and a third semi-circular groove 12 equally spaced from the grooves 11 and parallel to them. The upper half 12a of groove 12 faces one way and the lower half 12b faces the opposite way so that the groove forms a tubular guide for a pile. A first pile 14 is driven and a plate put in the required position with one of its grooves located on that pile serves as a jig for locating the other piles 14 in the other grooves. A second plate is located with one of its side grooves overlapping the adjacent side groove of the first plate. As the side grooves are of semi-circular cross section a revetment of curved form can also be erected.
