Abstract

A thermoluminescent manganese-activated calcium fluoride is prepared by reacting a wet slurry of CaCO3 and 4-6 w/o MnCO3 with conc. HF to precipitate a mixture of CaF2 and MnF2, washing and drying the precipitate, and then heating the powdered mixture in a dry rare-gas atmosphere at 120 DEG C. for 30 minutes and cooling in the rare-gas atmosphere. The material may be used as an integrating dosimeter.ALSO:A thermoluminescent manganese-activated calcium fluoride is prepared by reacting a wet slurry of CaCO3 and 4-6 w./o. MnCO3 with conc.
