1,043,650. Selective signalling. PHILIP'S ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. June 26, 1964 [July 1, 1963], No. 26535/64. Heading G4H. In a system for recording the positions of buses as they travel along their routes the buses are called upon cyclically, by radio, to transmit the readings of their odometers to a central station where they are plotted to give a distance-time graph for each bus. As each bus progresses along its route its odometer reading can be periodically corrected-to compensate for skidding and the like-by fixed road-side beacons which radiate inductively their distances from the central station. The graph paper, Fig. 5, can be pre-printed with the desired distance-time graph for each bus so that any departure of a bus from its schedule, such as on the dotted curve 57, 57, can be seen easily by a supervisor. The graph paper may also carry lines 63 to 67 corresponding to important stops on the route.
