Abstract

1387327 Road-traffic signalling apparatus MARCONI CO Ltd 13 Sept 1973 [28 Oct 1972] 49831/72 Heading G4Q In a vehicle location system the vehicle, travelling over a predetermined network of routes, transmits signals A, relating to distance travelled, and signals B, relating to change in direction, and a base station receives the signals A, B and computes the route between junctions being travelled by the vehicle by comparison with stored signals representing the distance between route junctions. In the embodiment the apparatus in a vehicle is interrogated by a signal from the base station and transmits its information by digital code and by radio.
