Abstract

The vehicle information system for a public transport network, uses a display, at each station, associated with a telecommunications unit (5, 5A). The display changes, as a vehicle approaches, in accordance with information received from a telecommunications unit (1, 1A) aboard each vehicle. The display has one memory for storing the information received from the vehicle, and a second memory for storing the vehicle information at the instant at which a vehicle passes the station. A further telecommunications unit periodically transmits the information stored in the first memory to a central control (22) and receives updated passenger information from the latter.
