Abstract

1,043,037. Refuse burning furnaces. HILGERS A.G. July 15, 1965 [July 15, 1964]. No. 30138/65. Heading F4B. A rotatable frusto-conical refuse burning grate of the type disclosed in Specification 975,545 is mounted on a shaft 13 extending outside the furnace enclosure and carried by the driving gear 14 which is rockably mounted on the furnace structure. The grate 3 and shaft 13 are rocked about a fixed axis 12 perpendicular to the common axis of rotation to bring the grate to an ash discharge position. The weight of the driving gear 14 is such that by lowering a closure plate 17 for the bottom of the grate, the assembly is moved to its ash discharge position.
