Abstract
104,227. Crudgington, H. March 3, 1916. Tips.-A rubber tip c is attached to a crutch by a nut b secured within the foot a of the crutch and engaging a screw f passing through the tip. The nut b may be inserted through a saw-cut in the side of the foot, which is afterwards filled in by a block d of wood &c. In a modification, the nut is forced up the bore a<1> in the foot and is secured by friction or by pins g, g<1> inserted laterally through the foot. In a further modification, the nut is provided with projections, and the bore a<1> is formed with corresponding recesses a<2>, which are filled in after the nut is forced home. A metal washer h may be provided between the pad and the foot.
