A vehicle having a load-carrying platform which is lowered to facilitate loading by rams 32, 33, 34, 35, Fig. 2, has a framework comprising side members 4, 5, 6 interconnected by crossmembers 7-22. The piston rods of rams 32, 33 and 34, 35 extend through members 13 and 14 respectively. The position to which the load platform is lowered is shown chain dotted in Fig. 3. Lowerable loading ramps 36, Fig. 2, are provided. The platform is locked in raised position.
