1,041,573. Boots &c. H. BIEFNOT. Aug. 7, 1963 [April 9, 1963], No. 31072/63. Heading A3B. A detachable top-piece 10 is attached to a heel 1 by a threaded rod 4 engaging a tapped hole in the shank 11 of the toppiece. The rod 4 is turned by a knurled disc 7 attached to its upper end and the top-piece is prevented from rotating by a rib (not shown) on the heel engaging a groove on the shank 11 or by providing the shank and the hole into which it fits with a polygonal cross-section. The heel 1 is reinforced by a tube 3 which may be omitted if the heel is made of metal.
