Abstract

A modification of the invention of Specification 972,989 comprises the use either singly or in combination of: (i) a phenyl salicylate as additional stabilizer; (ii) thiobisphenols of formula <FORM:1041016/C3/1> wherein R1 is alkyl or a cyclic hydrocarbon radical and y is from 2 to 6; (iii) diesters of 4,41-thiodibutyric acid instead of diesters of thiodipropionic acid. Optional ingredients specified are dialkyl pentaerythritol diphosphites, and Zn, Ca and Na stearates. Other polyolefins referred to are the polyallomers of Specification 1,018,284, the propylene copolymers of Specification 993,752, and copolymers of propylene with a diolefin or acetylene.
