Abstract

104,045. Imray, O., (Society of Chemical Inditstry in Basle). March 13, 1916. Azo dyes, chromium compounds of. Soluble chromium compounds of azo dyes containing chromable groups are prepared by heating the dyes with alkaline solutions of chromium oxide; when the reaction is complete, excess of chromium hydroxide is removed, and the chromium compound of the dye is salted out. Chromium compounds are specified of monoazo dyes from the following pairs of components : p-chlor-o-aminophenol and benzoylacetic-o-carboxylic acid; o-aminophenol-p-sulphonic acid and henzoylaceticc-carboxylic acid; p-chlor-o-aminophenol and 1 : 8 : 3 : 6 - dioxynaphthalene disulphonic acid; 1 : 2 : 4 - aminonaphthol sulphonic acid and alpha- or #-naphthol, perinaphthindandione, or 1-mnitrophenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone. The products dye animal fibres in acid baths. Specifications 7892/12, 26460/12, and 15456/15 are referred to.
