Benches, work.-A portable work bench comprises a bench top 1 supported by A-shaped standards 2, 3 connected by tie-rods 4, the bench framework being provided with a trolley 5 having three wheels 8, 11. The trolly is pivoted on pins 12 in lugs 13 of the tie-rods 4, and has fixed to it a lever 15, 16, by which it may be depressed from the position shown in Fig. 4 to bring the wheels on to the ground, as shown in Fig. 1, so that the bench may be wheeled about. The lever is held by a catch in its depressed position. On releasing the lever from the catch, the trolly will assume the position shown in Fig. 4, owing to the weight of the bench on the left of the wheels 11, thus allowing the bench to rest on the ground. Another lever 18 fixed to the framework 3 is provided for steadying purposes whilst operating the lever 15, 16. A cast-iron or other tray 19 is fixed beneath the bench top to receive tools and for other purposes.
