Abstract
1,1,1-Trichloroethane, methylene chloride, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, ethylene dichloride, trichlorethylene or perchlorethylene are stabilized by adding thereto from 0.001 to 1% by volume of N-methyl pyrrole and from 1 to 10% by volume of 1,4-dioxane based on the volume of the stabilized composition. The invention also comprises a composition of 0.1 to 50% by weight N-methyl pyrrole and 99.9 to 50% by weight 1,4-dioxane. The most preferred composition is 1,1,1-trichloroethane containing 0.05% vol. N-methyl pyrrole and 4% vol. 1,4-dioxane.ALSO:1, 1, 1-Trichloroethane, methylene chloride, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, ethylene dichloride, trichlorethylene or perchlorethylene are stabilized by adding thereto from 0.001 to 1% by volume of N-methylpyrrole and from 1 to 10% by volume of 1,4-dioxane based on the volume of the stabilized composition. The invention also comprises a composition of 0.1 to 50% by weight N-methyl pyrrole and 99.9 to 50% by weight 1,4-dioxane. The most preferred composition is 1, 1, 1-trichloroethane containing 0.05% vol. N-methylpyrrole and 4% vol. 1,4-dioxane.
