Abstract

103,828. Branecky, J. Feb. 2, 1916, [Convention date.]. Buoy signals; bell signals.-A bucy for indicating the position of a sunken vessel, attached by a line and free to float off the deck when the vessel sinks, is preferably of lenticular form, as shown, and carries a bell 17 adapted to be struck by pivoted hammers 25 operated by the action of the waves on paddles 28. The paddles are normally held in the horizontal position shown, with the hammers clear of the bell, by springs 29. An eye 19 serves for attachment of the line.
