Abstract

1,038,286. Bottle closures. CORNELIO PERTICA, CAMPS. S.A., INDUSTRIA E COMERCIO. March 2, 1965 [Sept. 15, 1964], No. 8815/65. Heading B8T. A liquid dispenser mounted in a bottle neck 23 partly comprises a sealing cap 1 in the form of a disc with a curved edge including channels 2, the cap having a downward cylindrical extension 3 and vertically and radially extending fins 4 interconnected by an inner circular rib 5, the top of the cap being formed with a circular rib 6. A cylindrical member 15 with a hole 17 rests with its annular rim 14 on a gasket 21 placed on the top end of the bottle neck 23. An inner disc 10 includes a conically shaped tailpiece 11 and a number of rods 9 with gaps between them and has a curved annular collar 8 formed with circular grooves 13; the grooves rest on the gasket 21. The member 15 and the inner member are held in position by a crimping skirt 22 which leaves open a cylindrical hole 7 in the inner member. The cylindrical extension 3 of the sealing cap 1 is pressed into the opening 7 to close the bottle. After removing the sealing cap 1, the contents of the bottle may be discharged by inverting the bottle, whereupon a hollow valve member 18 slides down the conical tailpiece 11 thereby opening the hole 17 and allowing liquid to flow through the gaps between the rods 9. On standing the bottle upright the hollow valve member 18 falls back into its original position to seal the hole 17.
