Abstract

1,036,585. Clocks and watches. HUGUENIN & CIE. May 23, 1963 [July 24, 1962], No.20580/63. Heading G3T A clock or watch dial 1 with raised signs or figures 7, Figs 1 to 5 (not shown) is made by injecting a molten material from the back of the dial through orifices 3 therein, so as to fill cavities of the signs or figures provided in a mould 6 placed over the face of the dial. A low melting point Pb-Sn-Sb alloy or a synthetic resin may be used. A glue is admixed with the material to ensure adhesion of the signs and these are linked together at the back of the dial by the material filling a groove 4. A colouring constituent may be added, or a film of precious metal may be deposited on the mould 6 to form a coating on the finished dial. The dial plate is located by pins 2 in the base 8.
