Abstract

103,651. Oman, E. Jan. 15, 1916, [Convention date]. Nitro compounds are prepared by nitrating lignine sulphonic acid or its salts, obtained from waste sulphite-cellulose lye, by means of dilute nitric acid at a moderately low temperature; part of the produce precipitates, and the remainder is separated from the reaction mass by neutralizing and adding alcohol. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) is not limited to effecting the nitration under the above conditions, and refers to the use of stronger nitric acid and a higher temperature. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
