Abstract

Hard-burnt pellets of high abrasive strength are obtained from iron ores and iron ore concentrates. A mixture of ores having different physical and/or chemical properties in which 20 to 60% of the material is fine-grained, of size less than 0.044 mm., is formed into pellets and hand-burnt at at least 1200 DEG C. The initial material is obtained by grinding the whole quantity of ore as a mixture or by mixing separately ground ones.
