Abstract
1,035,559. Automatic speed control. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. Nov. 12, 1964, No. 46091/64. Addition to 1,021,088. Heading G3R. [Also in Division H2] The rotor 2 of an A.C. motor is of squirrel cage construction, and stator 1 is wound as described in the parent Specification with a double star-connected winding having neutral points 19, 20. The stator winding is connected to the source 4 through controlled rectifiers 3, the points 19,20, being connected to neutral 17 through resistors 18. Direct braking-current is derived from transformer 13 through rectifiers 14. When a voltage derived from tachometer generator 5 is less than a reference voltage, comparator 7 actuates amplifier 8 whereby the conducting periods of rectifiers 3 are increased. Excessive speed causes amplifier 9 to render rectifiers 14 conductive so that the braking current supplied to the stator winding is increased. In other arrangements, the controlled rectifiers in the lines R, S, T, are shunted by reactor windings or diodes, the resistor 18 and the connection to the neutral 17 being omitted.
