Abstract

1,035,429. Pipe couplings. A. C. Y. E. GIRAUD. June 16, 1965 [Nov. 24, 1964], No. 25481/65. Heading F2G. In a coupling comprising a spigot 1 having an eccentric flange 3 and a socket 2 provided with a shoulder 11 and a sleeve 9 mounted to slide around the socket and move relative to the socket to a position in which the flange is locked, the sleeve including a terminal flange 4 defining a passage in which the flange 3 engages an eccentric recess 5 having a shape complementary to that of the flange, a number of helical springs 15, arranged parallel to the axis of the coupling, bear against the shoulder 11 and a plug 12 screwed into the socket urges the sleeve to a position in which the flange is locked.
