Abstract

1,034,958. Watches and clocks. FABRIQUES DES MONTRES ZENITH S.A. Aug.11, 1964 [Aug. 21,1963], No. 32614/64. Heading G3T. [Also in Division H3] A watch which includes a balance having a permanent magnet, the oscillation of which induce pulses in a control winding B1, Fig. 1 (not shown), which are amplified in transistors before being applied to a driving coil B2, comprises a first transistor T1 connected with a battery S through a resistance 1 and also to the winding B1 and a condenser 4, the condenser being charged by the battery through the resistance 1 and a further resistance 2 to a voltage such that during starting of the watch the transistor T1 operates as a class A amplifier, and a second transistor T2 which is connected to the driving coil B2, a resistance 2 and the transistor T1, the resistance 2 ensures that under starting conditions the transistor T2 also operates as a class A amplifier. The arrangement also provides that under normal operation of the watch the transistors T1 and T2 operate as class B amplifiers because the charge of the condenser 4 drops to a voltage lower than that of the threshold voltage of the transistor T1. A condenser 5 is connected with the transistor T1 to eliminate high frequency electric oscillations and a resistance 3 limits the current in the collector of the transistor T1. In a further circuit described the resistance 1 is connected with the collector of the transistor T2, and a variable resistance is connected in series with the coil B2.
