Abstract

1,033,707. Chain gearing. COPE, WHELON & CO. Ltd. Jan. 25, 1965 [Jan. 30, 1964], No. 4068/64. Heading F2Q. [Also in Division B8] A chain 1 for conveying poultry food through conveyer troughs 2 is driven by a wheel 10 having axially extending chain link engaging members 9. The chain 1 is guided into and out of engagement with the members 9 by the action of a ramp 11, up and down which the chain is constricted to pass. The chain is also constrained by guide rails 12, 12, which are engaged by members 13, 13, extending from the chain. A lug 15 on the inner rail 12 engages the front 16 of each link of the chain as it approaches, to push it into position to engage the next member 9.
