Abstract

The conveyor belt auxiliary piece comprises an item support and first and second legs extending downwards from the support and clipping over the belt. A flange (42, 44) extends sideways from each leg (32, 34) and has lugs or other devices (46) engaging with the mechanism (50) driving the belt (12). The support (14) can be parallel to the flanges and there can be guides to ensure that the driving mechanism engages with the lugs etc. The design is cheap to produce and much of the wear takes place on the auxiliary piece rather thatn the belt itself, the piece being easily replaceable.
