[Also in Division F2] A mixing tap comprises a housing 1 (Fig. not shown) having a flange 2 at its lower end from which depends a threaded stem 3 connected by a union 4 to the two inlet pipes, flow from these pipes to curved rotatable discharge spout 11 mounted at the top of the housing being controlled by valves actuated by a domed knob 7 extending laterally with respect to the housing and the axis of stem 3. A spigot 10 at the top of the housing, and arranged with its axis parallel to that of the stem, is received within a counterbore in the spout, and a non-metallic compression friction collar 13 in two semi-circular halves is provided to enable the spout to be rotated but only against a certain resistance. A grub screw 14 engages the friction collar to lock the spout in position. A nut 15 on the stem serves to fix the housing to a wash basin.
