Abstract

A therapeutic tablet for lowering the blood sugar level comprises a slightly soluble hypoglycaemic sulphonyl urea compound and diotyl sodium sulphosuccinate. Specified sulphonyl urea compounds include those of general formula <FORM:1030395/A5-A6/1> wherein R is methyl or chlorine, and R1 is alkyl, alicyclic, or heterocyclic e.g. tolbutamide, N-4-methyl-benzene sulphonyl-N1-cyclopentyl urea, N-4-methyl-benzene sulphonyl-N1-hexamethyleneimino urea. Inert non-caloric diluents may be added.
