Abstract

1,029,291. Photocopying apparatus. AGFA A.G. Jan 29,1963 [Jan 29,1962],No. 3329/62. Heading G2A. A projection printing apparatus has manually adjustable paper feed mechanism and magnification ratio, and has exchangeable negative supports for varying sizes of negatives, with indicating means which, when the support is in position, indicates a symbol which particularizes settings for both the feed mechanism and the magnification ratio. As shown, the negative support 13 is a plate having an aperture 14 of the correct size for the negative, a set of supports for different sizes of negatives being provided. The negative is located by a pair of runners 15 having flanges 16 which engage the margins of the film, so as to allow longitudinal movement of a strip of film having several negatives. Below the support 13 is an adaptor plate 11, pins 18 of which locate it on table 19 of the apparatus. The pins 18 extend from both faces of plate 11, so that the negative support 13 can also be located thereon. The plate 11 carries a series of pairs of symbols (J1, G5,&c,). When a particular negative support is in position, a window 25 therein is positioned so as to reveal one pair of symbols only (J1 in Fig. 1), which indicates the paper feed setting and magnification ratio setting for that particular negative. The knobs 27, 26 which control these functions, and are graduated with the symbols, are then set accordingly by hand. The plate 11 (Fig. 2) may be turned over, the other face providing a further series of symbols, corresponding to a different paper width.
