1,029,129. Moulding fibre-resin articles. UNIVERSAL MOULDED FIBER GLASS CORPORATION. Nov. 20, 1964 [Nov. 26, 1963], No. 47291/64. Heading B5A. In a process for forming elongated shaped articles; in which thermosetting resin impregnated fibrous reinforcement is drawn through an elongate heated forming passage, the separate die pieces, e.g. 24 and 25 (Fig. 2, not shown) which co-operate to form said passage are removably clamped, by e.g. bolts, between heated platens 30, 31. Thus by simply interposing various combinations of die pieces between said platens (see Figs. 10-14, not shown) a forming passage of any desired shape may be made whilst only one set of heated platens need be used. Each plate preferably carries cooling ducts 36 in the region of the entry to the passage, ducts 39 which may be heated or cooled as desired, adjacent thereto, and heated duets 33 which run the length of the remaining portion of the passage.
