Abstract

102,908. Dunstan, G. E., and Babcock, E. W. Aug. 31, 1916. Limbs, artificial.-An artificial foot comprises inner and outer members pivoted together at the forward end, resiliently supported at the heel, and provided with a resilient toe-piece. The inner member 2, formed integrally with the leg portion 1, is pivoted at 12 to the outer member 5, around which is pivoted the toe-piece 11 kept in normal position by a spring 16. The outer member is formed, near the heel, with a boss 21 into which is screwed a tubular plug 22 enclosing a spring 18, the upper end of which presses against a bar 19 connecting the front and rear of the inper member. Adjustment is effected by screwing the plug 22 in or out, and the inclination and upward movement of the inner member with relation to the outer member is controlled by a set-screw 25.
