Abstract

1, 028, 217. Froth-flotation apparatus. KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A.G. Feb. 8, 1963 [Feb. 4, 1962], No. 5201/63. Heading B2H. Pulp and reagent is introduced at 3 to the top of a cylindrical tank 1 with a conical bottom 2, a hollow walled cylinder 9 depending into the tank to form a froth discharge chamber, and air being introduced through apertures 6 in the tank 1 and apertures 14 in the outside wall of cylinder 9. Vanes 17 calm the flow of froth as it is driven underneath the bottom edge of the discharge cylinder 9. A valve 18 regulates flow from an outlet at the base of the tank. The cylinder 9 may be adjustable to vary its depth within the tank and may be telescopic so as to independently vary the height of its overflow edge to a collecting trough 15. The vanes 17 may also be adjustable in height. Air may be introduced through nozzles, or woven material, or porous metal, plastic, or stone.
