Abstract

1,026,400. Connecting differential gearcases to vehicles. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. June 11, 1964 [June 26, 1963], No. 25337/63. Addition to 1,003,750. Heading B7H. In a motor vehicle independent rear wheel suspension, the differential gear is connected to the vehicle body or chassis at locations spaced apart in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, the forward support comprising a pair of tubular members 13, each having an upper part 28 and lower part 37, connected to the vehicle, and a plate-like member 15, composed of two parts 19, rubber blocks 39 being bonded to the member 28 and to the member 15. Rubber stop members 45 and 47 are bonded to the upper and lower surfaces of the member 15 which projects laterally of the member 13 and is connected to flanges formed on the differential casing.
