Abstract
1,026,350. Spring upholstery. R. FURNES. Nov. 2, 1962, No. 41581/62. Heading A4M. [Also in Division F2] The end G of a sinuous spring, Fig. 1 (not shown), is anchored in a hook A formed by a bent steel plate having one limb secured by screws, tacks or pins E to a furniture frame F and the inner surface of the hook is covered with a thin strip B of copper or brass or resilient metal as a bearing for the spring end G. The side ages B<SP>1</SP> of the strip B are bent around the side edges of the hook A to provide a space C between the crook of the hook and the strip. Fasteners E are passed through both hook limbs when the spring end G is in position and the end of the bearing metal B may be bent around, Fig. 2 (not shown), between the end G and the fasteners E. Prior to use the hook limbs are parallel or splayed.
