A sprocket 5 and brake member 6 are provided with dogs 8 which may be alternatively engaged by sliding a driver nut 3 through a friction spring 4 along threads 2 cut on the shaft 1, the shaft being provided with limit stops 10 and 11 adapted to engage internal shoulders on the nut and relieve the members 5 and 6 from axial thrust.
