Abstract

The positive element of a thermocouple is made of a binary palladium based alloy containing 2 to 15 atom per cent of a second metal whose thermo-electric voltages are positive with respect to platinum and show maximum values when the second constituent comprises less than 15 atom per cent of the alloy. Suitable metals are V, Cr, Fe, W, Ru, Rh, Ir, Nb, Mo, Re and Bi.
