Abstract

1,025,626. Stripping insulated wire. FER, RANTI Ltd. Aug. 19, 1964 [July 17, 1963]- No. 28213/63. Heading H2C. In an insulation stripper, knob 12 is placed in the palm of the hand with the fingers engaging under grips 24. The wire to be stripped is inserted in collet 15, the standing part being anchored around clip 22. When the hand is closed parts 12 and 24 are brought together and the collet, which is coupled to the grips, is first pulled into contact with camming surface 14, Fig. 2 (not shown), so that it closes upon the insulation, which is pierced by jaws 19, and then continues into the bore of part 13, so stripping the wire. Interchangeable collets for different wire sizes are provided. In another embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown) an additional collet is used for gripping the outside of the insulated wire during stripping, so dispensing with clip 22.
