Abstract

A dental equipment stand has power-actuated means for moving it horizontally and for raising and lowering the tray portion. The base portion 10, Fig. 3 (not shown), has parallel side rails 23 which are slidable on guides on a fixed support member 12 and may be moved horizontally thereon by an electric motor 17 driving a threaded rod 18 in a nut fixed to the member 12. The tray portion 11 is mounted on a cylindrical pillar 31 which is slidable in a bushing 34 attached to the base portion 10. It may be raised or lowered by a second motor 24 driving a threaded rod 28 engaging in a nut 29 attached to the pillar 31. Since the pillar is freely slidable in the bushing 31 the tray 11 may be turned about this vertical axis if necessary. The motors are controlled by switches 35, 35a and the interior of the tray portion 11 houses the customary instruments 41, the extension cords 44 of which are retracted by spring-loaded pulleys, and it also encloses a lamp 60 placed adjacent to a glass window 61.
