Abstract

1,025,259. Skid rails for metal heating furnaces. INLAND STEEL CO. Jan. 1, 1963, No. 50957/65. Divided out of 1,025,260. Addition to 1,025,260. Heading F4B. Skid rails for a continuous heat treatment furnace or support members therefor are constructed as disclosed in Specification 1,025,260, except that the wire coils form part circles round the pipes not helices and the tie wires have their ends twisted together, Figs. 1-4 (not shown). In a modification, Figs. 5-7 (not shown), the stainless steel coils are attached to studs near a wear track, over which the plain carbon tie wires extend. These are fractured during use of the furnace, their respective coils being then held by the hardened refractory layer.
