Abstract

1,024,839. Golf clubs. CARLTON TYRE SAVING CO. Ltd. Jan. 6, 1964 [Jan. 16, 1963], No. 1088/63. Heading A6D. A golf club comprises a hollow metallic shaft B, preferably of steel, to the tapered end of which is secured an appendage A on to which end a plastics head D (Fig. 2 not shown) is injection moulded to completely surround said appendage. The appendage which is in the form of a loop may have either or both ends L, M secured to the shaft by brazing. Preferred materials for the appendage are steel and brass, and for the moulded plastics head are polyamide or polycarbonate. The shaft has a handle C which may be made of, for example, rubber or leather. Other modified appendages are indicated in Figs. 4, 7, 8, and 9 (not shown). The loop may be stamped or formed from a billet.
