Abstract

1,024,007. Elevated roadways. E. A. ZOYBAUM Oct. 21, 1964, No. 42879/64. Heading E1G. An elevated roadway of precast concrete units comprises roadway slabs 30 having downwardly extending edge beams 32 received in elongated slots 23 in longitudinal girders 20 supported on pillars 10. The slabs 30 have integral kerbs 36, 37 and upwardly extending beams 33 which may have wings 34 with apertures 35 for pedestrians. In a modification the beams 33 are hollow and upwardly tapered, the lower beams 32 engaging in a channel in the longitudinal girders against the sides of which abut reinforcing fins on the underside of the slab.
