Abstract

102,364. Salsbury, G. C. Sept. 12, 1916. Projectiles. - Relates to the centre-pieces of Mills's handgrenades described in Specification 2111/15, these centre-pieces comprising two tubes and a screwed base which have previously been made all in one piece or in three pieces soldered together. According to this invention, the central tube a is not merely soldered to the screwed base b, but is formed with slots a<1> which fit lugs b<1> on the screwed base to take up torsional and longitudinal stresses.
