Abstract

102,357. Tschannen, P. July 21, 1916. Hat-holders.-A hathclder is provided with two members adjustable on a baseboard and adapted to fit against the inside of a hat which is pressed against them by members engaging the outside of the hat. The members 7 which fit against the inside of the hat are carried by adjustable metal strips 9 sliding on the baseboard 1 and clamped in adjusted position by a nut 12. The hat is pressed against these members by presser-plates 6 carried by springs 4 hinged to the baseboard and held in operative position by a resilient band 18. The baseboard 1 is provided with a handle 2, feet 14, 16, and suspension rings 13. 15, and it may be provided with tongues to engage spring catches in a hat box or trunk. The presser-plates 6 may be spring-pressed and mounted on pivoted arms held in their extreme positions by bent springs. The presser-plates 6 and the faces of the members 7 may be removable, removable side frames or legs may be provided to support the baseboard in inverted position, and a wire ring or a disk may be mounted on the baseboard to protect the hat.
